PDO Thread lifts

PDO thread lift

Polydioxanone is a synthetic fiber stitch that has been used in surgery for decades, providing very predictable results, accurately and with very few potential side effects.

This is a substance that completely resorbs over time and is eliminated from the body.

Skin deterioration with age results in a loss of volume and support for the skin which causes sagging, grooves and lines on the face which PDO threads aim to correct.

PDO threads are placed using needles under local anesthetic. There may be some bruising, transient pain and discomfort after the procedure which can be managed and will pass within a few days. Skin will feel tight and a soft diet should be adhered to for a week.

In addition to restoring volume and correcting sagging, PDO threads can improve the condition of the skin by stimulating collagen production.

Treatment results can be seen immediately but are temporary, lasting between 6-12 months. For best results, repeat treatments are recommended and threads are best used in combination with an array of other facial rejuvenation procedures.

A thread lift works best when the face is treated as a whole, however the individual areas that can be treated are:

  • Upper and lower cheeks

  • Forehead

  • Eyebrows

  • Neck

  • Jawline

  • Mouth lines

  • Smoker’s lines

  • Crow’s feet

  • Marionette lines

  • Nasolabial folds

  • Under-eyes
